A Lazy Weekend....My Specialty

Before I speak of my weekend, I thought I would talk about a couple of my more stupid moments. In my opinon, I don't have many stupid moments so I like to point them out when I do....although I'm sure there are some of you out there that would disagree.

There's only 2 really. The first day I was here I went to the gym and I always start out slow on the treadmill at 2 miles an hour. So I put it at 2 miles an hour and I'm practically at a dead stop. It turns out it's in kilometers. So I go ask one of the trainers what the conversion is and I go back get squared away. So I'm walking along and I try putting in my weight so it will track my calories and the machine says that it will only go up to 181 kilograms.....damnit! So instead of making my walk of shame to the trainer again, I just go without my weight and I did the math on my own later. The second one.....ah the second one. We went to a Japanese restaurant Friday night....another first and while we were waiting for our food I was playing around with the chopsticks. While doing that, I figured out how to work them so I decided to give it a go. I got beef teriyaki as "beef" and "teriyaki" are two of the hot words I look for whenever going to a foreign restaurant over here and I'm plugging away with the chopsticks thinking I am doing a pretty good job. 10 minutes into the meal one of the waitresses walks by and puts silverware down next to me. I hadn't asked for them and personally, I didn't think I needed them. I was a little disappointed. I looked up and said to the table, I didn't think I was doing that bad and Tyson said he had been enjoying watching me try and eat.......oh well.

So the picture that's with this post is my view across the pool from where I was sitting. I had another outragous breakfast and then spent a couples hours laying by the pool listening to music and reading my book. I spent more time this weekend sitting at the pool than I have in the past 20 years combined. Then I spent a little time at the gym and walked one of the thousands of malls they have here. They have really taken malls to an artform here. 3 of the 10 largest malls in the world are in the Philippines. I haven't been to one of those yet but there's still time.
